Going/Coming Soon!

I've been creating, selling and even working my other job at Lake Affect Studios for about a year now. I LOVE the idea that I have a place apart from home where I can create, in peace... mostly.

See, when I was shown the place, I wasn't given the grand tour. As a matter of fact, I did not think we (the artists) were allowed to go upstairs as it was the studios other business, an event/venue space. Literally no idea there was a basketball court above my head. I literally thought there were people making use of an open space to play ball.

No... it's a whole damn court.

And apparently, I've become a nuisance to the owner. Asking her to speak with a neighbor about her loud music, and then the basketball. She basically said in an email, "If you don't like it... leave."

That's NOT verbatim but that was the gist of it. They provide these additional spaces for artists to unwind between work. The spaces are advertised as an open studio space and maybe this type of studio is not for every artist.

Again... if you don't like it, leave.

So, I'll be moving into a studio space at Artful Cleveland at the end of the month. It's smaller than my current space, but I only use half of my current space anyway.

Closer to home, less money, no basketball courts inside - sounds good to me.
